Blink and next thing you know the wrinkly, squirmy, newborn for whom you literally just mastered the swaddle technique is all of a sudden halfway to year one on this earth. I feel like it was just yesterday that my water broke and I was standing in my bedroom looking at my husband in total shock — just frozen and of course trying to figure out how I was going to get to the car without leaving a trail of puddles behind me. LOL
Fast forward to today and my son is six months old. First of all he’s such an amazing blessing and a miracle. I’m so greatful and thankful for every moment I am able to share with him. He has changed my life for the better and this has been the most amazing and rewarding experience.
Who knew that we would be eating veggies so soon! I’m actually looking forward to the sweet potatoes, Yum! We’re on peas and string beans now — pretty bland but he’s enjoying them. He’s pulling himself up, laughing, smiling, and has such an incredible and outgoing personality already. I ask myself, where has the time gone? To think this time last year we were anxiously awaiting his arrival and now he’s here, crawling and even has the nerve to have “girlfriends” at daycare. LOL
Even though I’m looking forward to all of the upcoming milestones (we’re still awaiting tooth #1) sometimes I wish that I had the ability to push a pause button so he wouldn’t grow so fast. Everyone jokes it’s time for baby number two — in time and God willing; for now, I’m going to continue to cherish these very sweet days with my son.
